Activate your BuddyPro license and connect to the Telegram bot you created

In this step, we "animate" the Telegram bot you created by linking it to your purchased BuddyPro license. This will turn it into a full-fledged instance of your AI Expert.

5.1 Understanding the role of "Personal Buddy" for this process

As we mentioned in Part A (Section 2.4 and 2.4.1), the BuddyPro platform has a universal AI instance known as Personal Buddy (sometimes referred to as Buddy Classic), accessible via buddy.fm.

For the technical process of creating your own unique BuddyPro instance (your AI Expert), you will use this Personal Buddy as your "gateway". It's a one-time technical step.

Open a chat with the Personal Buddy (buddy.fm) in your Telegram app. If you've never communicated with him before (e.g., you haven't tried his free trial version), click the ▶️ Start button.

note

If Personal Buddy tells you that you've used up your free trial messages and can't enter a command, contact our support team at support@buddypro.ai and we'll temporarily increase your credits so you can complete this step. Normally, however, entering this activation command should work even after the trial has been exhausted.

5.2 Entering the /createPro key command

Now in the chat box in a conversation with Personal Buddy (buddy.fm) - not with @BotFather or your newly created empty instance! - enter the following command. It's absolutely crucial to type it exactly, including all colons and without any extra spaces, and to replace the {} placeholders with your real data:

/createPro:{license}:{botUsername}:{botToken}
  • {license}: Replace with your unique BuddyPro license code. You received this code in the email when you purchased your license. Copy it carefully.
  • {botUsername}: Replace with the username of your Telegram bot that you created in step 4.4 (e.g. MujExpertBot or muj_expert_bot). Make sure it is exactly as @BotFather confirmed it to you.
  • {botToken}: Replace the API Token with your Telegram bot's token that you obtained in step 4.5. Again, make sure to copy the entire token exactly.

Example of a complete command (with dummy data):

/createPro:MOJELICENCE123ABC:MujSuperExpert_bot:1234567890:AaBbCcDdEeFfGgHhIiJjKkLlMmNnOoPpQqRrSsTt

Send this command.

5.3 Confirmation of the creation of your BuddyPro instance

If you have entered all three parts of the command ({license}, {botUsername}, {botToken}) correctly, Personal Buddy (buddy.fm) will respond with a confirmation message, for example:

Buddy Pro Created. Thank you! Your Buddy Pro instance has been successfully created. You can start interacting with it here: t.me/VASE_USERNAME_BOT

(Message text may vary slightly.)

This message will include an active link to chat with your newly created and now fully activated BuddyPro instance (your AI Expert!).

Click on this link. This will open a new chat window, this time directly with your own AI instance.

In this new chat (with your instance), click on the ▶️ Start button that usually appears at the beginning of the conversation.

Congratulations!

Your AI Expert is officially out in the world! He may not know anything yet (he doesn't have your know-how), but his "body" and "brain" are ready to learn. Now we'll connect him to the place where you'll store all your knowledge - your Google Drive.

From now on, you'll be running most of your admin commands and all normal communication with your AI Expert in this new chat, not through Personal Buddy (buddy.fm) anymore.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

What if I entered the /createPro command incorrectly or with an error in the data?

If you enter the command incorrectly (e.g. a typo in license, botUsername or botToken, or bad syntax), Personal Buddy will likely respond with an error message (e.g. "invalid license" or a more general error). Carefully check all three entries and the format of the command and try entering it again. Make sure you copy the entire token and license.

Personal Buddy is not responding or saying I don't have enough credits/messages.

If you have used up free trial messages with Personal Buddy (buddy.fm) in the past, you may not be able to enter the /createPro command. If this is the case, contact support at support@buddy.fm to request a temporary increase in credits to complete the activation of your BuddyPro instance.

Where exactly can I find my license code?

The BuddyPro license code was emailed to you after you successfully purchased your license. Search your email inbox (including your spam/junk folder) for the email from BuddyPro confirming your order or welcoming you to the platform.

Where can I find the correct botUsername and botToken?

You obtained these details in the previous step (Step 4) from @BotFather in Telegram.

  • The botUsername is the username you chose that ends in bot or _bot (see Step 4.4).
  • botToken is a long unique code that @BotFather generated for you after successfully creating a bot (see Step 4.5).

Why is the activation done through Personal Buddy (buddy.fm) and not directly in my new instance?

Personal Buddy acts as the central point of the BuddyPro platform for managing licenses and creating new instances. It's a technical step to ensure that your purchased license is properly linked to the specific Telegram bot you've created.

Can I use the same BuddyPro license for multiple Telegram bots?

No, one BuddyPro license is intended to activate one unique BuddyPro instance (one Telegram bot). If you would like to create multiple independent AI Experts, you will need multiple licenses.
