AI Credit Management: fueling your AI expert's brain

Your AI Expert needs "energy" to run - AI Credits. Every operation it performs (processing your know-how at /update, generating role content at /updateRoles, and especially every response to your users) consumes a certain amount of these credits.

The principle of the credit system

  • 1 AI credit = 1 USD (US dollar).
  • With your BuddyPro license you get an initial bonus credit (the amount varies depending on the type of license purchased). This credit is intended to cover the cost of the initial training of your AI (processing your know-how, generating roles) and the first interactions with you, your testers and your first clients.
  • Once you have used up this initial credit, it must be recharged regularly to keep your AI Expert up and running.

22.1 Setting up automatic recharge of AI credits

Setting up automatic recharge is essential for uninterrupted operations. Without it, your AI Expert will stop responding when credits run out.

In order to avoid a situation where your AI Expert runs out of credits and stops responding to your (paying!) clients, it is essential to set up automatic credit recharge.

To do this, you can enter a command in the chat with your BuddyPro instance (as its owner):

/setupCredits:{topUpAmount}:{rechargeAt}
  • {topUpAmount}: Enter the dollar amount by which you want your AI credits to automatically top up when their balance falls below a certain threshold. The minimum recommended top-up amount is 250 USD.
  • {rechargeAt}: Enter the threshold (credit balance) in USD here. When your current credit balance drops below this value, the recharge process will automatically start with {topUpAmount}. The minimum recommended threshold is 100 USD.

Example of a practical setup: /setupCredits:500:100

This setting means "When my AI credit balance drops below $100, it will automatically top up my credits by $500."

What happens when I enter /setupCredits?

Your BuddyPro instance will send you a unique, secure link to a payment gateway (currently Stripe) in Telegram.

Click on this link. You will be redirected to a page where you will enter your credit card information to be used for these automatic recharges.

The first recharge of {topUpAmount} will usually be made immediately after you enter your card (or when you reach the {rechargeAt} threshold, if you still have enough from your initial bonus) and will be added to your existing (or bonus) credit balance.

Recommendations for setting up {rechargeAt}: The more active users your AI Expert has, the higher your {rechargeAt} threshold should be. This will give you a sufficient financial buffer in case the automatic payment from your card fails for some reason (e.g. card expiration, insufficient funds in your account). This gives you more time to fix the problem before the credits drop to zero.


22.2 Changing the parameters of the automatic recharge

If you want to change the automatic recharge amount (topUpAmount) or threshold (rechargeAt) in the future, use the command:

/changeCreditsTopUp:{newTopUpAmount}:{newRechargeAt}

Replace the parameters with the new desired values. Again, minimum limits apply ($250 for recharge, $100 for threshold).


22.3 How to find out the current balance of your AI credits?

The easiest way is to ask your BuddyPro instance directly in a conversational way. For example:

  • "What is my current AI credit balance?"
  • "How many credits do I have left to operate?"
  • "Find out my credit balance."

Your AI should reply with your current credit balance in USD.

Alternatively, use the /stats command. This command will display a comprehensive statistics report where you will find the Credits line. This shows your current AI credit balance in USD.

The /stats command is the most accurate and fastest way to see not only your credits balance, but also other key metrics for your instance.


22.4 What happens if AI credits run out and auto-reload fails?

If your credit balance drops to zero (or very close to zero) and an automatic recharge from your card fails for some reason, your AI Expert will stop responding to your users.

The BuddyPro platform will repeatedly alert you (as the instance owner) to this critical situation with Telegram messages (e.g. every hour, with warning symbols) to resolve the issue as soon as possible (e.g. update your credit card, ensure sufficient funds in your account).

Once you have resolved the payment problem and the credits have been successfully recharged, your AI Expert will start working normally again.


22.5 Where can I find the invoice for the AI credits recharge?

Invoices for each successful recharge of AI Credits (made via the Stripe payment gateway to which the /setupCredits command directs you) should be sent automatically via email to the address you provided at checkout. The email usually comes from Buddy.fm or Stripe and contains an invoice in a PDF attachment.
